“When I leave the house I bring the Knopf map, water, and Paris by Pastry along with diapers and I’m set for the day. Your guide has made Paris accessible and less dense and intimidating. I had a delicious paris brest from this shop near Port Maillot after visiting the Arc de Triomphe. And just finished a little quiche from Dalloyau, while I’m waiting on line for the Musee Rodin.”

About the Authors

Joyce Slayton Mitchell and Beverly A. Thomas have lived in Paris, studied in Paris, taken high school groups to Paris, taken their children to Paris, stayed in hotels in Paris, rented apartments in Paris, and have focused on pastry shops for many years. Known by friends as true francophiles, Jeanette (Beverly A. Thomas), from Massachusetts who lives in Connecticut, is known best as a French teacher with a diploma from the Sorbonne, retired from Norwalk High School, Connecticut, specialist in French culture and literature, and co-taster of Paris pastries. She says that it is only because Paris is such a beautiful walking city that she is able to even consider sharing a pastry every two hours with her pastry-hunting pal. Mesdames Jeanette et Georgette’s extensive in-depth knowledge of Paris will enhance every pastry-stalker’s delicious Parisian experience. Georgette (Joyce Slayton Mitchell), a Vermonter who lives in New York City and Shanghai, is also an educational consultant for U.S. college admissions around the world, the author of 40 nonfiction books, including 8 First Choices: An Expert’s Strategies for Getting in (SuperCollege, 2010, Ebook, 2012), Belly Up to the Bar: Dining with NYC’s Celebrity Chefs without Reservations (Cumberland House, 2008, Ebook 2012), and College Culture: What’s My Match?, Ebook, 2012.
